In her garden, Maria Smith of Atlanta found a little rabbit scurrying through some straw. After looking around, the girl discovered a nest of rabbits with two additional cubs. As she handed the rabbit she had been holding back to the nest, she vowed that this would be the last time.
But now it was gone. The next morning, the cubs were still in the nest and looked worse than they had the night before.
Maria believed their mother hadn’t ever returned to feed them.
The rabbit declined to go see the cubs the next day as well. The young lady then took the bunnies home and began to take care of them. She fed them with kitten formula that she had bought. She then began taking the rabbit outside sometimes to expose her to the outdoors.
The rabbit immediately warmed to her savior and began to trust her. Maria knew that soon the rabbit would have to be returned to the wild. She then began to grant.
Honey, get outside more often. Though she has just recently turned two, the rabbit still makes the rare trip outside of her nest to see the young woman who saved her life.
