An alligator pulled the dog into the water. The owner was compelled to fight a dangerous predator. A man was walking around the perimeter of his farm in early June when an alligator emerged from the marsh and grabbed his rescue dog.
It began dragging the dog by its paw into the water. The owner tried to drag the animal by the collar, but the predator was unyielding. Then the man made a choice. He dove in and began whacking the alligator in the head.
The injured dog was left on the strand as the animal rapidly moved away. A significant injury to the dog’s paw required rapid surgery. With just minor wounds, the guy managed to flee. Between April and June, when the creatures become more active and aggressive, crocodiles are at their most hazardous.
The man set up an alligator trap after the event in the goal of trapping the crocodile before it injured anybody else. He used a rooster to try to entice the reptile, but nothing has been successful so far.
The local wildlife management organization is willing to move the alligator away from people, but the man isn’t giving up on getting rid of the predator in the county.
