In the forests of northern Finland, Lassen, a 55-year-old wildlife photographer, captured a rare friendship between a she-wolf and a juvenile bear. According to the photographer, the animals were regularly spotted together and exhibited no aggressive behavior toward one another.
The meals they shared, however, were often shaped like deer and were shared by all. Because bears and wolves are polar opposites and cannot coexist, this is unusual. For ten days, Lassen watched the pair.
He said that he has no idea why they get along so well, but he thinks it started when they were both very young and shared feeding helped them to have longer lives. Lassen has no knowledge of any other instances of this nature, at least not in Europe.
In zoos, it’s not unusual to see cubs from several species bonding. Normally, this occurrence doesn’t happen, although there are occasionally outliers.
