Makeup artist Gemma Horner demonstrated the talents of the makeup industry to the Transformation Program audience. Amy Smith, a 23-year-old alternative model who has spent the last ten years covering her body in tattoos and piercings, made such a profound shift throughout the transition that her mother was brought to tears and her small son could not even recognize her.
Amy has several tattoos, some of which are on her face, as well as numerous body piercings. She looked very different after the makeover. Amy has several tattoos, mostly on her neck and forearms. She received her first tattoo when she was a teenager, but it wasn’t until she started working at a tattoo shop at age 18 that she truly became interested in body art. Amy’s friends and family are supportive of her tattoo obsession, but she frequently encounters hostility from strangers.
Despite this, Amy considers her tattoos to be works of art and a means of self-expression. While Gemma Horner, a beauty artist, applied makeup to hide the tattoos and match her skin tone, she was quite anxious.
After some time, Horner curled Amy’s red hair in addition to covering the tattoos. Amy was the first to notice the change when she looked in the mirror and saw herself. She went to see her mother and stepfather in the next room a little while later. Amy’s mother and stepfather both had the same response upon seeing her improved appearance, grinning through tears.
Amy was astonished by the change and felt uneasy, as if she were staring at a stranger, despite her mother calling her lovely.
Amy said she was even more driven to keep getting tattoos and decorating her body with them despite the dramatic change. She eventually wants to cover her whole body with tattoos, leaving no bare flesh visible.
