This historic actor is regarded as one of Hollywood’s finest performers, having played approximately 100 memorable parts over the course of a career spanning more than 60 years. The 87-year-old Los Angeles native has won the Academy Award, the most coveted honor in film, twice, in 1980 and 1989. However, who is this well-known individual who was recently seen in New York appearing nearly unrecognizable? It’s Dustin Hoffman, of course!
The well-known actor, who seemed to be trying to blend in, showed up with a big beard, wearing sunglasses, a baseball cap, black trousers, white sneakers, and a loose-fitting blue button-up shirt. He was not accompanied on this expedition by his wife, Lisa Hoffman, whom he married in 1980. Jacob, Rebecca, Maxwell, and Ali are the four children that Dustin and Lisa have together. After having a long-standing relationship through their families, the pair exchanged vows in 1980.
It’s interesting to note that Lisa and Dustin first met at a family cookout when she was only 10 and he was 27. Because Dustin’s mother was friends with Lisa’s grandma, their families were close. The Tootsie actor enchanted Lisa and her younger brother with his comedy and piano prowess during that get-together, even getting Lisa to dance.
They reconnected at her grandfather’s funeral years later, when Lisa was 22 and Dustin was 38, having recently separated from his first wife, Anne Byrne. Shortly after, they went on their first date, which led to a romance that has lasted ever since.
Lisa frequently thinks fondly of their long marriage. “They say one year in Hollywood feels like seven years anywhere else—so multiply that by seven,” she said in an interview with Closer. She went on to say that they are “more in love than ever” and that their relationship has only gotten stronger after more than 40 years of dating. Dustin was married to Anne Byrne from 1969 to 1980 before he married Lisa. Together, the couple had two daughters, Jenna (age 53) and Karina (age 57).
“After we started dating, my grandmother reminded me that I had told her, ‘I hope he waits for me because I want to marry him,’” Lisa recalled her early experience with Dustin. And that’s precisely what happened, as fate would have it. “I knew when I married Dasti that my life would involve constant travel, and we’ve worked hard to make it work,” Lisa says, attributing their enduring love to hard work and dedication.
