Jack cherished the outdoors and frequently spent time in the woods, sometimes by himself and other times with companions. He was strolling through the woods one day as usual when he saw some movement in the long grass. He came upon a wounded wolf that was lying down and seemed worn out.
Jack chose to feed it the bits of meat that were close by. The wolf began to feed gently, recovering some vigor despite its weakness. For a short while, Jack remained close to it to check on its well-being. Satisfied that he had been of assistance, he then departed.
He eventually forgot about this experience. Jack ended up in the same forest a year later. The sound of an animal’s howl disturbed the stillness as he was walking. He turned around to see a wolf, who appeared untamed and menacing, coming toward him. Jack was prepared to sprint, his heart pounding, when
Jack is our story’s protagonist.
He came into an injured wolf one day while out for a walk in the forest.
The wolf was extremely skinny, and pain was visible in its eyes.
“You know, this world isn’t so bad,” Jack said in a whisper as he immediately gave the wolf some flesh.
Despite being extremely weak, the wolf started eating gradually.
Jack moved away after leaving the meat next to the wolf.
He heard an animal’s voice a year later while he was in the same woodland.
He turned around as it was growing a little dark and noticed a wolf that appeared to be very wild approaching him.
Jack’s heart was racing and he was about to bolt when another wolf suddenly materialized.
This larger and more powerful wolf leaped between Jack and the initial one.
Jack froze, marveling at the intense battle between the two wolves.
It was more of a struggle for protection than hatred.
After a fierce moment, the assailant fled into the darkness after being forced away by the guardian wolf.
Jack realized that the purpose of this wolf was to keep him safe.
Jack recognized the wolf he had fed the year before when it came closer and he stared into its eyes.
Knowing that occasionally, animals defend us just as much as we protect them, Jack was moved by this act of loyalty and developed a connection with nature he had never thought possible.
