In front of the guests, my husband mocked me and called me a fat cow: but he had no idea what kind of revenge was waiting for him

My husband called me a big cow and made fun of me in front of the visitors, but he had no idea what type of retaliation was in store for him.

Everything started that night like in a lovely film. My spouse and I were invited to dinner by his pal and his spouse. I took my time picking out a dress since I wanted to appear respectable and genuinely beautiful. A nice evening was promised, complete with champagne glasses, candles, delectable food, light talk, and laughter.

However, one clumsy motion altered everything. I unintentionally dropped a bit of meat over my dress during supper. My husband’s expression went from happy to stern in an instant, even though it looked like a minor matter.

That look was familiar to me. Arguments always followed such little situations, and he frequently reacted in such manner. I put up with his personality out of love, but the possibility of divorce was constantly present in my mind.

Then, directly in front of the visitors, he turned to face them all and grinned icily:

Pardon my cow. She has no idea how to act in public. Give up eating! You’re fat enough already.

There was a terrible silence in the room. Unable to comprehend what they were hearing, his wife and buddy froze. A surge of pain rose in my chest, but I forced a grin instead of crying.

His friend interrupted him, asking, “What are you doing?” — Your wife’s body is stunning!

— What the heck? My spouse reclined in his chair and said, “Is it no longer possible to speak the truth?” She has gained weight once more. Being spotted outside with her is embarrassing!

“She’s beautiful,” his friend emphasized.

— Beautiful? — my spouse chuckled. Has she ever been spotted without makeup? Bad! When I wake up in the morning, I ask myself, “Why did I marry her?”

Something broke inside of me at that very instant. I went to use the restroom after excuse myself.

He yelled after me, “Go on, cry, calm down, you fool.”

I let myself cry while I was by myself in the bathroom. But with the tears came the resolution that I would never allow him to violate my dignity again. The time has come for retribution.

I went back into the living area. I quietly removed my wedding ring and put it in front of my spouse after sitting down at the table.

He scowled, “What does this mean?”

— I’m going to file for divorce.

He sneered:

— Ha! Why would anyone want you this way? You will never be loved.

I simply said, “We’ll see.” You’ll get your belongings and depart tomorrow. from my flat. After all, I no longer fit there because I’m so overweight. Oh, and you’ll leave the automobile in the garage; it’s registered in my name. Don’t worry, my brother will be aware of everything. He “loves” you very much, as you are aware.

You’re not going to do this.

You’ll see.

I got up, grabbed my handbag, and made my way to the door. I heard his friend’s voice behind me, soft yet distinct:

It suits you well, jerk.

For the first time in a long time, I felt liberated as I left the house.
