When 19-year-old Evan Turnbull stepped onto the Canada’s Got Talent stage with his guitar, the judges thought they were watching a solo audition. Evan began performing “My Maria” by Brooks & Dunn, showing off a warm country voice and natural stage presence.
But then the audition took an unexpected turn.
Evan’s twin brother Aaron Turnbull suddenly joined him from the audience, turning the solo performance into a powerful sibling duet. The judges and audience immediately reacted to the surprise, and the brothers’ harmonies added a completely different energy to the performance.
The judges loved both the surprise and the brothers’ musical chemistry. All four judges voted yes, sending the Turnbull Brothers through to the next stage. Their journey eventually took them all the way to the 2023 finale, where they finished in third place.
What began as a seemingly ordinary solo audition turned into one of the season’s most memorable surprises. 🎤🎸
