Sometimes talent is found in the most unexpected places. Jonathan Pooley, a Toronto Transit Commission (TTC) bus driver, got the opportunity of a lifetime when Howie Mandel surprised him during a regular workday and invited him to audition for Canada’s Got Talent 2025.
Known among passengers for his singing, Jonathan had long dreamed of pursuing music. During the surprise encounter, Mandel revealed his identity and encouraged the driver to take his talent to the national stage.
At his audition, Jonathan performed “Lose Control” by Teddy Swims. Despite being nervous, he delivered an emotional and powerful performance that impressed the audience and earned strong praise from the judges.
Jonathan later shared that he dedicated the performance to his family, who have always supported his passion for music. His heartfelt story and authentic talent helped him advance in the competition.
From driving a city bus to performing on one of Canada’s biggest talent shows, Jonathan Pooley’s journey is an inspiring reminder that it is never too late to chase a dream.
