The chef gives up his prior career to open the biggest dog shelter in Thailand.

A facility for hundreds of stray dogs. A chef who worked in a restaurant and founded the refuge. He began feeding a stray dog every day when she came up to him one evening.

Mike immediately became aware of the many dogs on the streets who required aid.

The cook began regularly feeding stray dogs, first a few, then a few more, and eventually discovered that he was already caring for one hundred dogs.

The man then decided to abandon his former way of life and devote the majority of his time to caring for stray dogs.

In 2018, he inaugurated a shelter. And in four years, he helped save over a thousand animals.

Initially, he often took them to nearby veterinarians. But in 2020, he decided to build his own veterinary clinic on the shelter’s grounds.

The shelter, which is regarded as the largest in Thailand, is currently home to 700 dogs and employs a large crew on a daily basis.

On average, this building requires $1460 in maintenance per day.
