This lovely canine observed the other dogs being removed one by one from the shelter for more than two years. Niko the dog lived most of her life at a shelter before being adopted. The shelter staff tried everything they could to find her a loving home.
Niko stayed at the shelter after two years. For whatever reason, none of the discussions with prospective owners went smoothly.
When the shelter workers discovered that no one was interested in adopting such a wonderful puppy, they were shocked. She couldn’t be kept around cats, which was a potential contributing reason.
Or perhaps it’s just that she’s a lazy dog who doesn’t accomplish much. For some reason, the potential owners didn’t see how beautiful her face was when they gazed at it. The dog isn’t being demanding, Niko. All she wants is a moment of your attention before she falls asleep.
The staff made a greater effort to place Niko in a home after she had spent more than two years in the shelter. They were successful. The staff at the shelter believed that Niko’s prolonged wait for her family was appropriate.
