The nice woman made the decision to continue running while toting the lovely puppy along for the last 30 kilometers.
The considerate athlete only stated the reason for her action: because no one else was around, she was unable to leave him there alone. Hemjira finished the race distance while rescuing the small puppy from a dangerous situation. Despite the fact that she did not do as well as most of the other runners, she was nevertheless quite eager to get a new animal companion.
