A trip to this animal refuge in Taiwan is the stuff of every dog lover’s dreams. The refuge run by Ms. Hsun, which was established five years ago, has more animals than people. Because there were so many stray dogs in the area, the Hsuns gradually began to take them in small groups.
This number increased until, later, a kind individual gave a sizable structure to be used as a suitable refuge.
Currently, there are over 3,500 canines residing there as they wait to find a permanent home.
Like the numerous other volunteers who devote many hours to the puppies, Angelina Wo started doing this after finding there were too many stray dogs in her neighbourhood.
The increased emphasis at animal sanctuaries like Mrs. Hsun’s sanctuary is a much-appreciated development that surely would improve awareness of the repercussions of animal husbandry.
The shelter has a significant number of regular staff and volunteers, as well as a special service that makes accessible, inexpensive wheelchairs for dogs that need them.
What a lovely notion. I hope more people take this action. Strays from all the streets benefit greatly from our sanctuary.
